Aquatechnex biologists began the Newman Lake Eurasian Milfoil Control Program Tuesday June 25th. This 1200 acre lake in Eastern Washington has been the focus of lake restoration projects for a number of years. The lake has a unique hypolimnentic aeration system that injects oxygen into the lower portion of the water column over the summer months. In recent years, the lake has experienced problem with an expanding population of Eurasian Milfoil.
Our team targeted 91 acres of the noxious aquatic weed yesterday and will be monitoring conditions in the coming months with an eye to performing more treatment work as necessary in September.
